The origin story of Rustic Nine
Victor and Elaine Liebaert, a couple with farming in their blood, could have never guessed that one day they would have a golf course in their backyard. In 2005, they left the farming life, sold their cattle, and began clearing the pasture. Being avid golf fans, they began adding a few greens in the empty pasture to enjoy with family and friends. After endless encouragement and a determination to try their hand at something new, Victor and Elaine worked tirelessly to create a cozy, 9-hole golf course for everyone to enjoy. Fast forward to 2008, and Rustic Nine was born. The course has been a beloved mainstay ever since, proving that sometimes, the craziest ideas turn out to be the best ones.
In 2011, Rustic Nine added another feather to its cap by hosting its first wedding event on the course. Recognizing the potential of their historic barn, Victor and Elaine saw an opportunity to repurpose it into a charming and rustic venue for event hosting. Over the years, Rustic Nine has witnessed over 90 weddings and has been the backdrop for hundreds of unforgettable events. Always on their toes, in 2022, Victor and Elaine broadened their horizons even further. They introduced The Loft Sessions, a recurring music night designed to give local and touring artists a space to showcase their talent and artistic prowess. Partnering with Side Door Access in 2023, The Barn at Rustic Nine has grown to become a coveted venue by musicians across the country.
Meet the Team
Victor and Elaine Liebaert are the heart and soul of Rustic Nine. Having been married for 40 years, they make the best pair, both in business and in life. Dedicated to providing the best experience for every golfer and guest, Victor and Elaine work hard every season to maintain their little piece of paradise so others can enjoy it too.
When they are not cutting grass, helping couples plan their big day, or organizing events, you will often find them spending time with those they love. With four children, three in-laws, and five grandkids, Victor and Elaine are always on their toes. Combining family and business all in their backyard may seem like an overwhelming task, but to Victor and Elaine, they wouldn’t have it any other way.
